My Trip to NYC

November 24th, 2011

My trip to the New York City was fabulous, as usual, after New York City is the greatest city in the world.   I flew in just as one of the biggest snowstorms in over 40 years, was finishing its destruction. The snow fell hard and wet, no pun intended, over the East Coast, dumping tree limps and power lines.  Unfortunately, many people where without power for days.  New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania were hit the hardest.  Luckily, I landed safely in Newark, NJ.  I took a yellow cab into the city and checked into the hotel in the city, by late evening.  I went for my usual walk about in the city, stopping at my favorite Irish Pub for a Guinness.  I love Guinness, in case, you didn’t know. Last Sunday of the month of July…

July 31st, 2011

Here it is the last Sunday of the month of July… For us Phoenicians this is an event in itself.  This means we have survived 2 whole months of summer and have 1 more “official” month to go. It has been a HOT summer.  We welcomed the monsoons about 2 weeks ago but so far have not seen that much actual rain on the ground.  I do make the joke that now, “we have both and heat and humidity.”  It’s kind of like, “we have both kinds of music, country and western.”  Read the rest of this entry »

Finally learned how to use my new blog

June 6th, 2011

Another break through, I am finally learning how to use my new blog.  The new website has been up and running for 4 weeks and I have just figured out how to use my new blog.  Proof that you can teach old cats new tricks. This is the exciting life of a Head Mistress on a Sunday afternoon, at home, just in from the pool and sun.  As we say goodbye to May and welcome June, I can tell you that I do not know where the time goes.  May brought a gentle spring to Phoenix with mild temperature and mild showers. Welcome to the new, refreshed, revised Den of Indomitus website.

March 31st, 2011

Our website had become outdated and difficult to manage. It is desire to give the website a face lift, but retained a user friendly system to navigate it. I feel that I have accomplished that with a little help from my friends. I will be the first to admit that I am not a computer wizard the truth is I can barely pick up my emails and surf the web. And another truth is that I am not really interested in learning either. Many thanks to the Goddess, that there are people out there who understand all of this computer stuff and have been very helpful to work with. I hope that you enjoy the new site. Feel free to add your comments on the Boards or my Blog.

As always, Spank you very much, HM Porsche Lynn.

I spent several days in Seattle Washington teaching self defense to a group of individuals.

March 25th, 2011

The first day we taught 8 hours of unarmed self defense against an unarmed person, as well as defense techniques against an attacker with a gun, knife or club. I feel like the most important in the beginning stages is to get people to raise their code of awareness and to not put themselves in vulnerable places. The 2nd day we taught a basic NRA Home Firearm Safety Course. Read the rest of this entry »

Mardi Gras Party at DOI!

March 5th, 2011

We had the very best, most traditional Mardi Gras party that I have attended outside of New Orleans. Tons of traditional Mardi Gras music played by incredible DJKillsik, King Cake, Jello Shots, MoMo, Black Jack Table, Dancing Girls, Parade with Floats, Crowning of the Mardi Gras King and Queen and much more that we cannot tell you about, for fear that we may be arrested, even weeks later.

Another Birthday, you have got to be kidding me

February 14th, 2011

The older I get the faster they come. I had a private, sweet evening with my loved one which included fireworks. I adore fireworks. Thanks to everyone who sent me Birthday wishes, it really is very sweet, even for an old lady like me :)

I got the Rhythm Room in my blood

February 7th, 2011

I went to the Rhythm Room with one of my favorite slaves, I call him my Skiperdoodle. We went to see the fabulous Tab Benoit and the Voice of the Wetlands. Tab was joined by some tremendous musicians from Louisiana, like Cyril Neville & Big Chief Montauk. For those of you who don’t know, I am a total Blues Fan. I love the Blues, old Blues like Big Mama Thornton, Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, Koko Taylor and new Blues like Tab Benoit, Taj Mahal, Debbie Davies.

As far as I am concerned the Blues is the originators of all music that we hear today. It holds the key to the soul of all music. I love the Blues and you will often see me at the Rhythm Room in Phoenix, Arizona. If you see me in the club, introduce yourself and buy me a beer :)
